Sodium Bisulfite

Sodium sulfite is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula Na2SO3. It is a sulfite of sodium and is mainly used as a stabilizer for artificial fibers, fabric bleach, photographic developer, dyeing and bleaching deoxidizer, spice and dye reducing agent, and lignin remover for papermaking.

Applications

Sodium bisulfite is used for the bleaching of cotton fabrics and organic materials.

And used as a reducing agent in dyestuff, papermaking, tanning, chemical synthesis and other industries.

In the pharmaceutical industry, it is applied to produce intermediates of metamizole and aminopyrine.

Serves as bleaching agent, preservative, and antioxidant food grade products.

And used as a plating additive in the treatment of chromium-containing waste water.

Storage

It should be stored in a cool and dry warehouse. Containers must be sealed to prevent oxidation by air or deterioration due to moisture.

Do not store or transport together with oxidants or strong acids. It should be protected from rain and direct sunlight during transportation
