Hydrofluoric acid is an aqueous solution of hydrogen fluoride gas, a clear, colorless, smoky, corrosive liquid with a strong pungent odor. Hydrofluoric acid is a weak acid with extremely strong corrosiveness, which can strongly corrode metals, glass, and objects containing silicon. Inhaling steam or coming into contact with the skin can cause incurable burns. Laboratories generally use fluorite (mainly composed of calcium fluoride) and concentrated sulfuric acid to produce, which need to be sealed in plastic bottles and stored in a cool place.

Brief introduction |
Hydrofluoric acid is an organic substance with a chemical formula of HCOOH and a molecular weight of 46.03. It is the simplest carboxylic acid. Colorless liquid with pungent odor. Weak electrolyte, very acidic. |
|
Storge Method |
Keep in a cool, dry, dark location in a tightly sealed container or cylinder. |
Hydrofluoric acid is a solution of hydrogen fluoride (HF) in water. Solutions of HF are colourless, acidic and highly corrosive.

Uses
Mainly used as a raw material for fluorinated compounds; also used in the manufacture of aluminum fluoride and cryolite, for semiconductor surface etching, and as a catalyst in alkylation reactions.
Used as a strong acidic etchant in the electronics industry; it can be used in combination with nitric acid, acetic acid, ammonia, and hydrogen peroxide.
Used as an analytical reagent and in the preparation of high-purity fluorides.
Serves as an essential fluorine source for the production of fluorine salts, fluorinated refrigerants, fluoroplastics, fluororubber, fluorinated pharmaceuticals, and pesticides.
Used as a raw material for producing refrigerant "Freon," fluorine-containing resins, organic fluorides, and elemental fluorine. Also used as a catalyst in alkylation, polymerization, condensation, isomerization, and other organic synthesis processes in chemical production.
Employed in the manufacture of organic and inorganic fluorides, such as fluorocarbons, sodium fluoride, aluminum fluoride, uranium hexafluoride, and cryolite.
Used for glass etching, metal pickling, production of inorganic fluoride products, and preparation of chemical reagents.
Applied in the atomic energy industry for the production of elemental fluorine and fluorides; also used as a catalyst and fluorinating agent.
Used in the production of organic and inorganic fluorides; also applied in pickling of stainless steel and non-ferrous metals, frosting of glassware, and treatment of frosted light bulbs.
Used for silica determination, fluoride production, copper cleaning, metallurgical and metallographic analysis, and analysis of silicon compounds.
