Epoxy Resin Solid e12 25kg/bag
Solid epoxy resins are well-defined, solid-state thermosetting polymers widely used in industry. Chemically, they are typically formed by the condensation of bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin, featuring reactive epoxy groups in their molecular chains. With epoxy equivalent weights (EEW) ranging from 500 to 3000 g/eq, their softening points vary with molecular weight-for example, E-12 type softens at 75–85°C, while high-molecular-weight grades like NPES-909H reach 135–150°C.
These resins gain strength through cross-linking with curing agents (e.g., dicyandiamide, anhydrides), forming a three-dimensional network. Key properties include high mechanical strength (tensile strength 65–85 MPa), excellent chemical resistance (resistant to acids, alkalis, and oil), and good electrical insulation (dielectric strength >20 kV/mm). Their low melt viscosity (1500–55,000 mPa·s at 150°C) makes them ideal for powder coatings (used in appliance casings and auto parts for high gloss and weather resistance), structural adhesives (bonding metals in aerospace), and electronic encapsulation (withstanding temperatures up to 160°C).
In contrast, "solid oxidized resins" is not a standard term and often stems from confusion. It may refer to oxidized rosin resins-natural rosin modified by oxidation, containing carboxylic acids and double bonds. These are solid at room temperature but differ vastly from epoxy resins. They have lower softening points (70–100°C), poor mechanical strength (brittle and low impact resistance), and limited chemical resistance (swellable in organic solvents). Their main uses are as tackifiers in hot-melt adhesives, binders in inks, or activators in rubber vulcanization.
