                                                                                    Application Fields of Zinc Oxide

Zinc oxide, a versatile inorganic compound, finds extensive applications across multiple industries due to its unique physical and chemical properties.

In the industrial sector, it serves as a critical additive in rubber manufacturing. Acting as a vulcanization accelerator and reinforcing agent, it enhances rubber elasticity, wear resistance, and heat stability, making it essential for producing tires, seals, and rubber hoses. Additionally, it is widely used in coatings as a white pigment (replacing toxic lead white) and anti-corrosive agent, protecting metal surfaces from oxidation and extending the lifespan of structures like bridges and pipelines.

In electronics, its semiconductor and piezoelectric characteristics enable applications in varistors (for surge protection), transparent conductive films (used in touchscreens and LEDs), and gas sensors, contributing to the advancement of smart electronic devices.

The pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries also rely on zinc oxide. In cosmetics, it acts as a safe, broad-spectrum UV filter in sunscreens, blocking both UVA and UVB rays. In medicine, it is an active ingredient in ointments for treating skin conditions like dermatitis and burns, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Moreover, it is used in ceramics to lower sintering temperatures and improve product density, as well as in animal feed as a nutritional supplement to support livestock health. Its diverse applications highlight its significance in modern industry and daily life.
