As an important inorganic acid, phosphoric acid plays an irreplaceable role in the global chemical, agricultural and food industries. As the core product of the phosphorus chemical industry chain, phosphoric acid has a wide range of uses and its demand continues to grow, making it one of the key raw materials to promote the development of the modern economy.

From a chemical point of view, phosphoric acid is a medium-strength tribasic acid that can react with a variety of metals and non-metals to form stable phosphates. Its high-purity form (such as food-grade phosphoric acid) is widely used in beverages, food additives and pharmaceutical production, while industrial-grade phosphoric acid plays an important role in metal surface treatment, fertilizer manufacturing and chemical synthesis.

In the agricultural field, phosphoric acid is the basic raw material for the production of phosphate fertilizers. About 70% of the world's phosphate resources are processed and converted into phosphoric acid, which is then made into high-efficiency fertilizers such as superphosphate and diammonium phosphate to meet the needs of global food production. With population growth and agricultural modernization, the demand for phosphoric acid continues to rise, especially in emerging economies such as Brazil and India, where the import volume of phosphate fertilizers has increased year by year.

In terms of industrial applications, phosphoric acid is used to manufacture metal preservatives, electronic-grade chemicals and new energy battery materials. In recent years, with the rise of the electric vehicle industry, lithium iron phosphate batteries (LFP batteries) have become a hot spot in the market, further pushing up the market demand for phosphoric acid and its derivatives.

However, the production of phosphoric acid also faces environmental challenges. The mining and processing of phosphate ore may cause environmental pollution, so sustainable production technology has become the focus of industry attention. Many companies are reducing their carbon footprint and promoting the development of green chemical industry by optimizing processes and recycling wastewater.

In the future, with the modernization of agriculture and the expansion of new energy industries, the market prospects of phosphoric acid will remain broad. If foreign trade companies can grasp this trend, they will occupy an important position in the global chemical supply chain.
